When adventure beckons, Mungo is there. Paul Mungeam, known as one of the premiere adventure cameramen, has traveled to more than 90 countries to capture the world’s wild and wonderful – and sometimes hostile – environments. ‘Mungo’ now steps in front of the camera to lead viewers on his own adventures, exploring myth and legends he’s heard of during his 20 years traveling the world in Animal Planet’s landmark new series.
Holey & Moley were commissioned to help develop and style the series from conception; creating an evocative brand and following this style through the many graphic sequences.
This included a feature-length (1 minute) branded effect sequence used to open and tease the series. Mythical ‘beasts’ were researched and visualised in great detail, 3D extruded topographic maps were created at various scales and specification. Layered ‘scene investigations’ were created to help narrate the adventure exploration for each story, with additional data mapping, tracking, footage feeds, archive and evidence.
Transitions, editorial ‘kit of graphic parts’, grading, journals and aston design were also incorporated into the distinctive graphic brand.
