This feature film is a unique showcase that reveals the beauty of Romania as it is; raw, magical yet fragile at the same time. In the heart of Europe, there is a fabulous wildlife, rich in biodiversity, home to numerous wild animals. The endless mountain peaks and river streams, ancient forests, all provide home to various creatures. Their lives are dictated by the seasons of these lands of beauty. It’s a never ending battle for survival and Untamed Romania will tell their stories. Who will survive the trials of life in this ever changing environment?
Holey and Moley are very proud to have worked on this landmark feature film, producing; branding, film titles, 3D topographic maps and graphic effects. These were all produced in stunning 4K DCI high-speed. The work also had to seamlessly fit into the epic choreographed sequences depicting the true natural beauty of Romania in all it’s Untamed Beauty.
The film was the first time to feature the new Auchan Brand Animation, which was also a Holey & Moley commission; branding Auchan (the films commissioning body) whilst reflecting the films delicate and responsible ethos.
“Some things must remain as they are” is the message this documentary wants to promote. It is an invitation to knowledge, responsibility, and appreciation meant to raise awareness on the fragile wildlife of this country.
The film made its international debut on the 18th of March 2018 in Washington, at an ecological film festival and on the 12th of April in London, at the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) gala. In cinemas the film will be distributed by Transilvania Film, with the premiere taking place on the 13th of April, 2018. The Romanian documentary is an important step in building future efforts to support environmental causes.
