In this landmark BBC series, historian David Olusoga takes us on a compelling journey; tracing the social and political landscape of Britain across a span of 180 years, focusing on just one building! A House Through Time explores the varied and changing inhabitants of a single dwelling in Liverpool, from its construction to the present day.
Holey & Moley were commissioned to help develop and style this series from conception; creating an evocative brand and following this style through the many graphic requirements.
This included the re-creation of many maps, artefacts and graphic history. Building accurate 3D models of the House, through all it’s evolutionary changes and uses, and styling it ‘in history’ to create a tapestry brand that transcends the page.
Conceptual timelines, digital rostrum, 3D projection mapping, parallax suspended photography, and visual effects were all combined to ensure the communication, brand and style of this evocative series created a true landmark of social history.
The series made such an impact in 2018 that there is lot’s going on behind the scenes for Holey & Moley, so watch this space for more through time…
