In this documentary series produced for Channel Five; Chris Tarrant takes extreme railway journeys through remote foreign locations, combining travelogue, history and ingenious engineering.
Holey & Moley were commissioned to design the style for this already successful series; creating a new evocative strand titles sequence which infused a tapestry of culture, climate & environment through a multitude of ages. Spanning a variety of Trains, we travel through five different continents, with a variety of engineering and atmospherics to help establish the series as a true intercontinental travelogue. All this was achieved using various design techniques and special effects to help create a ‘brand look’ which was not only distinctive but also reflective of the series ethos.
Bespoke maps were also produced and used extensively throughout the series. These plotted the various routes and transport used, some barely in existence! These geographic sequences were subsequently styled, adding a unique look and feel to further enhance the series brand appeal. Topography, icons and even geology itself were illustrated by hand to create truly unique, personalised map sequences that help viewers truly engage with Chris on his Extreme Railway Journeys.
