Get Gotti

Told from both sides of the law, the series charts Gotti’s ascent within the Gambino crime family and the relentless FBI pursuit that ultimately led to his 1992 life sentence. It’s a story built on power, notoriety and consequence — and it demanded a visual language that could carry that weight.

Holey & Moley were commissioned to develop the series brand and define its graphic identity from the ground up. Our approach fused archival authenticity with contemporary craft. Microfiche textures, neon electronica, solarisation and parallax animation combined to create a distinctive aesthetic — one that honoured the era while feeling sharply modern. We reworked historic documents and footage, upgrading them for the screen through layered compositions, projection mapping and suspended parallax scenes that transformed static archive into cinematic, dimensional moments.

Retrospective sequences wove together microfilm, cinemagraphs, montages and stylised segues, while bespoke lower thirds, locators and timelines were designed to integrate seamlessly within the editorial. Every graphic intervention was choreographed to sit naturally alongside the cinematography, celebrating the archive rather than overpowering it.

The result is a cohesive, evocative visual world that deepens the storytelling and elevates the series’ tone.
