This beautiful series follows the real life adventures of Emma, an English pet vet turned wild animal vet and her husband Shaun, who together run a game capture business in South Africa. The series follows Shaun and Emma in the bush, catching, relocating and rescuing big game: rhino, buffalo, giraffe, antelope and elephant. It is essential work, but not without risk to both the humans and animals. The wild animals they deal with are always unpredictable, so often things don’t go according to plan!
Joining them on this unique safari are baby Phoebe, Tuala; their pet Jack Russell, Big John, the ace helicopter pilot and a twenty-strong capture team. There’s plenty of drama as we follow this young family and their extraordinary lives.
This series combines action adventure with breathtaking landscapes, stunning wildlife and emotional stories of rescued animals.
Branding this successful series required an opening sequence, which explained how Emma ended up in South Africa, whilst featuring the key characters of the series. This was all done in a stylish “adventurer” pastiche; paying homage to classic graphic novel styling and embracing the established “swashbuckling” explorer tones.
Layering photographic stills of all the series elements, and composited them together, using parallax 3D and graphic novel halftone printing; creating a sequence which answered the brief, stylishly explained the premise and helped to brand the series.
