The BBC’s ‘World Cup Stories’ (also known on terrestrial BBC as ‘More Than A Game’) is a 6x 60min film collaboration between BBC Worldwide and FIFA, and features a combination of stunning Official World Cup FIFA film archive, specially shot interviews with some of the greatest players, and previously unknown ‘behind the scenes’ moments in World Cup history, filmed exclusively for the series.
Simon was a creative director for the series, working across special effects, grades, music, rostrum, styling and the graphics brand. The titles sequence alone, incorporated over 60 styled and layered shots, unifying the series’ focus on football’s core values such as the iconic players, raw passion, national identity and cases of political involvement and repercussions.
